The environment is being harmed. It’s air, land and water are suffering from pollution because of our lack of environmental awareness and wasteful ways. Animals, who are the most innocent creatures are more vulnerable to die because they cannot talk for themselves. There is a dogfight over plastic involving the U.S, India and China. The country which will follow imposes more restrictions on importing plastic and destroying it eventually wins this cat & dogfight.
There are endless ways plastic bags and plastics in general are harming the environment. However, it’s difficult to get the public's attention to change their behavior against using them.
I just can't help but notice the plastic bag epidemic that is plaguing our planet and killing animals. I hate to think about my children and what their world will look like in 20 years. Will they ever be able to go outside and be free of pollution? I just want to make this world a better place and I want everyone to stop being complacent. And we can't stop something that we are so bad at communicating about.
In the future, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This is an extremely worrying fact.
The endless cycle of plastic. It's everywhere, in your handbags, your backpacks, your cupboards, and more recently, the ocean. Unlike some other materials that break down into harmless compounds when discarded, plastics only become smaller and more dangerous. So why are we still using this material? As an international issue, this problem doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. You may be asking yourself: How did so much plastic end up in the ocean? Your answer lies somewhere between ignorance and negligence.
But when we go to the grocery store, how do we avoid using those horrible plastic bags without having to bring our own re-usable one each time?
Plastic bags are being banned in some towns, and manufacturers are making tougher plastic bags to try and counter the ban.
If you are concerned about the environment, consider using reusable grocery bags instead of spending money and filling up landfills with plastic bags.
The article does bring up a good point about littering making life harmful for animals and even causing their death. So the next time you need to buy a bag don’t just grab one, but always ask if they have more environmentally friendly ones that are made out of fabric or paper, that way you will know that you did your part to help the environment.
I think that the best way to lead by example is to not use plastic bags at all. Stop using them and look for reusable bags. I know it’s hard, but if we can help the environment today, maybe there will be no need for these kinds of blogs about the environment in twenty years.
